The conference presents an overview and discussion of recent work on philosophical questions of human communication, assessing the claims and prospects of universal pragmatics today as well as discussing other approaches grounded in contemporary analytical and continental philosophy and communication theory, or drawing inspiration from historical developments. Panels include presentations on dialogue, intersubjectivity, intentionality, communication ethics, rhetoric, epistemology of communication, media theory and methodology, philosophy of language and speech, togetherness, the public sphere, universal pragmatics and recent empirical investigations.
