ECREA Women's Network website launched

The ECREA Women's Network has launched its website, where interested members will be able to find information about the Network's aims, activities and how to get involved.

Women's Media Network

The Network acts to promote gender equality among academics in the fields of communication and media studies. This goal in mind, it gathers and distributes information about the current situation of women in higher education and academic research in Europe. Its main interest is in identifying differences, strengths, weaknesses and areas of good practice in order to stimulate the exchange of ideas and the development of expertise and insights across national borders that will promote gender equality in academia. The activities include workshops and biennial business meetings. It will also develop also online activities in order to promote contacts and cooperation between network members and distribute relevant information.

The Network is the organiser of the conference 'Gender in European Academia: Difference and Discrimination in Communication Research', that will be held on 25 November 2009, in Porto, Portugal.
